Mike Bethel scored in the 89th minute to give the University of Tampa a 1-0 victory against Central Florida in Orlando on Sunday evening in the Spartans final preseason game.The victory was Tampa's first, after previous losses to South Florida and Jacksonville. Bethel finished a chance create by Pascal Milien to give the No.3 Spartans victory.
"I am very pleased with the progression of our team," says head coach Adrian Bush. "The young players are settling in and we hope to get healthier. We are excited to open up the regular season games that start beginning Thursday night."
Tampa begins its regular season on Thursday night at home to Florida Memorial at 7 p.m.
