College Women's Matchday: Florida Atlantic at South Florida

WHEN: 7:30 p.m.

NEED TO KNOW: South Florida’s womens soccer team opens its regular season looking to continue the momentum it built in preseason. The Bulls recorded a pair of 2-0 victories against Jacksonville and Saint Leo, and goes up against an Owls squad that lost 2-0 to Stetson in its opening game on Sunday.

Florida Atlantic finished 7-10-2 last season, but took USF to double-overtime in last season’s game, returning junior Alejandra Santos grabbing the game-winning goal for the Bulls in the 109th minute. This year’s edition of the Bulls squad promises to be more potent offensively, and could take advantage of the Owls' youth in goal. All four goalkeepers on the FAU roster are either freshmen or redshirt freshmen, with former Plant goalkeeper Courtney Zwetsch among them.
