WHEN: 4 p.m.NEED TO KNOW: The Spartans open the season by hosting an invitational tournament, and face the Saints in their opener. Tampa won the corresponding fixture last season 3-1, returning starter Samantha Kay scoring one of the goals, and will hope to record a similar result on Friday.
Coach Gerry Lucey has a young side overall, with only two seniors on the roster, but is hopeful the experience players like sophomores Kay, Brittan Spence and Jazmin Perry gained last season will have a positive impact on newcomers to the starting line-up.
