Colleges: Sinclair scores as Bulls beat Stetson

Freshman Hasani Sinclair scored his first goal for South Florida as the Bulls completed their preseason with a 3-0 victory against Stetson on Friday night at the USF Soccer Stadium.

Sinclair, a U.S. under-18 international and Parade High School All-American, capped the Bulls victory with a second-half goal to add to his earlier assist on Jorge Mora’s opening goal.

“It felt great to finally be able to play,” Sinclair told GoUSFBulls.com. “It felt good to score on my debut.”

Fernando Gonzalez doubled the Bulls lead early in the second half as he headed home from Jorge Mora’s corner kick in the 50th minute.

Jeff Attinella had three saves, while Brad Sienkiewich added two in the final 15 minutes, to combine on the shutout for the Bulls.

“I thought the guys did a good job,” Bulls coach George Kiefer told GoUSFBulls.com. “We always set out to get the shutout, and we did a good job with that. I don’t remember having to come up with any big saves, but I thought from that standpoint we did a good job.”

South Florida opens its regular season on Tuesday as it hosts Central Florida at 7:30 p.m.
