College Matchday: No.11 South Florida at Florida Gulf Coast

WHEN: Saturday, 7 p.m. Fort Myers.

NEED TO KNOW: No.11 South Florida will try to build on its 2-1 victory against Central Florida on Tuesday night as it faces another in-state rival. While pleased with the victory on Tuesday, Bulls coach George Kiefer wasn’t entirely happy with the way his side played, and has been working on picking up loose possession, and controlling the tempo of the game more in the days following victory.

“Some of the teams get us with that,” captain Francisco Aristeguieta said. “Coach has put an emphasis on getting second balls, because that’s been a weakness.”

Florida Gulf Coast won its opening game of the season against Florida International 1-0 on a goal by Christian Raudales. Entering its third season in Division I soccer, the Eagles will be facing the Bulls for the first time.
