NEED TO KNOW: The Spartans travel to play a make-up game for the game that was postponed on August 29. Coming off a victory against former No.1 Lynn, Tampa moved up to No.3 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II poll released on Tuesday.
The Spartans Dan Ingvarsson was named the SSC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for his key role in the side’s win on Saturday, providing the assist for Ryan Griffin’s late goal that sent the game to overtime. The Spartans will play two games in two days in order to make up the game, facing Webber International on Wednesday.
The Sailfish rebounded for a 6-0 win against Florida Memorial on Saturday after losing consecutive games to SSC opponents Barry and Lynn. Led by Johnathan Clark, Kyle Crouse and former Plant City High standout Cheyne Roberts who have five goals apiece, the Sailfish will be looking for their second SSC scalp of the season after a 3-1 win against Saint Leo on September 18.
