WHEN: Wednesday, 7 p.m., Cardinal Park Soccer Stadium
NEED TO KNOW: Top spot in the Big East Red Division standings is at stake when South Florida travels to face Louisville on Wednesday night.
The Cardinals (6-1-2) are coming off a 6-0 win against DePaul on Sunday. One of the keys to Lousiville’s success has been strong starts to games, with the Cardinals having held their opponents scoreless in the first half of games so far this season. In their only defeat on Sept. 25, Notre Dame scored four second-half goals.
The key to this game, though, will likely be whether Louisville’s attack can break down a South Florida defense that is only giving up 0.54 goals per game. The Cardinals lead the Big East with a 2.56 goals per game average, with Mark Knight leading the team with five goals. At the other end of the field, the Bulls will try to attack a Cardinals defense which has given up six of the seven goals it has conceded in its past three games.
