College Women's Matchday: No.16 Florida Tech at Saint Leo

WHEN: Saturday, 5 p.m., University Field

NEED TO KNOW: After a full week of practice, the Lions will try to move back above .500 in the Sunshine State Conference as they face No.16 Florida Tech side looking to rebound from a loss to No.8 Rollins on Wednesday.

The Panthers (8-2-0, 2-1-0 SSC) have spread their scoring around, with both Teresa Brantley and Christina Edwards notching five goals in 10 games, with Alyssa Esposito adding four goals and four other Panthers finding the net three times. Melissa Pyles has also been solid in net, holding a 0.74 goals against average with four shutouts.

The Lions (3-1-1, 1-1-0 SSC) didn’t get much competition in their last outing, a 13-0 win against Clearwater Christian. They will be hoping forward Hannah Beard can replicate her performance against the Panthers a season ago, as the senior scored the only goal of the game in overtime when the two teams met last season. Beard leads the Lions with six goals this season.
