Colleges: Lions women cancelled, Mozzo earns defensive award

Saint Leo’s womens soccer team will have to wait for its opening game of the season, as its game Monday against Webber International was cancelled.

The Lions will travel to face No.2 West Florida on Friday. The Argonauts won the corresponding fixture last season, and are coming off a season where they reached the NCAA Division II championship game, losing 1-0 in double-overtime to Seattle Pacific.

In other Saint Leo news, mens goalkeeper Erik Mozzo was named the Sunshine State Conference Defensive player of the week after posting a pair of shutout victories for the Lions against Clearwater Christian College and North Georgia.
